Meet the Tandem Team
We believe therapy is most powerful when rooted in collaboration, compassion, and trust. Each member of our team brings unique expertise and a shared commitment to walk alongside clients on their journey toward growth and healing.
Lauren Kulp, Esq., JD, LCSW, MSW
Clinical Director and Therapist
Founder of Tandem Collaborative Wellness
Engaging with therapy — whether for the first time or after a pause — can feel unfamiliar, intimidating, or uncertain. My goal is to create a space where those feelings ease quickly. I meet clients exactly where they are, offering a warm, steady presence that helps them move at their own pace. Together, we shape sessions that feel meaningful and supportive — sometimes challenging, but always safe and purposeful. For me, the most rewarding part of this work is walking alongside clients through their successes and struggles, their transitions and decisions, and witnessing the growth that unfolds when support and courage meet in tandem.
I am licensed in North Carolina, Ohio, Florida, Illinois, and Alabama, so can see clients located in any of these states. For those seeking ALS Wellness services (those where either self or a loved one has ALS), those services can be offered nationwide. I have experience in a variety of settings including emergency rooms, hospital-based trauma programs, college counseling centers, college health centers, larger mental health companies, and in private practice.

Life can be complicated, and navigating its twists and turns doesn’t have to be something you do alone. In our work together, I offer a collaborative and supportive space where you can feel safe, seen, and empowered. I believe therapy works best when it’s a partnership — your goals, voice, and lived experiences lead the way, while I walk alongside you, ask thoughtful questions, and help you uncover clarity, healing, and growth.
I enjoy working with both teens and adults who are exploring identity, moving through life transitions, and working to overcome self-doubt. I’m especially passionate about supporting the LGBTQ+ community, and I strive to create an affirming, inclusive space where all parts of you are welcome. If you’re ready for clarity, resilience, and growth, I’d be honored to walk this path with you.

Many people reach out when the ways they have learned to cope or relate no longer feel true to who they are becoming. You may be navigating identity exploration, life transitions, or relationship challenges while trying to hold it all together. Therapy offers space to slow down, untangle what feels heavy, and reconnect with yourself. It does not have to be stiff or clinical. Complexity, messiness, and even moments of humor are welcome here.
I work with individuals, couples, and college students, especially LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent clients. My work is rooted in affirming, anti-oppressive practice that recognizes how culture and social context shape our inner lives and relationships. You do not have to shrink or mask your existence.
My style is collaborative, honest, and grounded. I integrate relational and insight-oriented approaches. Together, we create space for deeper self-understanding and a life that feels more authentic to you. If this resonates, I welcome you to reach out.
